Abductive reasoning and the possibilities of their application in the context of medicaldiagnostics
Abstract
The article highlights the position regarding the interpretation of abductive reasoning: draws parallels with other types of reasoning, on the basis of which the specificity of understanding of abduction is determined. The position on understanding abduction in terms of its "advantages" and "disadvantages" is summarized, and the specifics of the use of abductive reasoning in the field of medicine, namely at the stage of diagnosis. Considered and argued the idea that abductive reasoning can be considered both ampliative and heuristic, also it states that the abduction refers to a logical theory, and is not limited to any kind of reasoning or method.
